Bird Cage Covers - What You Should Know

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

If you own a pet bird you may already know the importance of having a bird cage cover. Putting a cage cover over your bird is a sign that it’s time for bed. It lets them know to be quiet for the night and it helps in keeping them on a set schedule. Another good thing about a bird cage cover is how it will also keep them from singing away at 4:30 in the morning. Birds tend to wake up a little earlier than I do.

There are some important points to keep in mind when using bird cage cover:

Tn Visa (tn-1) For Canadians/mexicans To Work In The United States

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

TN a special United States immigration status applicable only to the citizens of Canada and Mexico. The TN status is a result of the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) where Canadian and Mexican citizens were granted the opportunity to work in the US, although the fields were defined. Some aspects of the TN visa make it similar to the H1-B visa although the TN has some added unique features. In fact, TN status holders can work for up to a year at a time although it can be renewed indefinitely in one-year increments. The occupations defined for TN status holders are also quite a bit more limited than for the H-1B visa.

The Scramble For Software Patents

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Have you come up with an idea, or an innovative process, or developed a neat little prototype around it? Are you totally excited about it and want to release it in the market and test it out? Hold on a bit, because you need to first protect your intellectual property.

It takes years to conceptualize and develop software products. However, once the product attributes are well defined, it does not take significant effort to replicate the software on a different platform or language if it has not been patented.

Live On Forever (or Why You Need An Ethical Will)

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

In the movie “The Bachelor,” starring Rene Zellweger and Chris O’Donnell, a young man’s grandfather had himself videotaped reading his will, in which he directed his grandson would receive his $100 million estate only if he was married by 6:05 p.m. on his 30th birthday. If not, the grandson inherited nothing. The rest of the movie is about the grandson trying to overcome his fear of marriage and getting married on the next day, his 30th birthday. He proposes to 10 women whom he doesn’t love while the song “Hit the Road Jack” plays in the background. But, in the end, his true love comes through and the wedding occurs just in time (and in the money) at 6:05 p.m. The movie closed with the song “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me (Higher and Higher).”

How Does The Labor Compliance Program Work?

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

As expressed by the California labor and workforce development agency all construction projects funded by the Kindergarten-University Public Education Facilities Bond (Acts 2002 - 2004) are required to contain and comply with a labor compliance program. This compliance program became effective as of April 1, 2003.

You may now be thinking: ‘Oh well, this is a lot of legal mombo-jombo’, but the fact is that these laws were created for a reason. The labor compliance program also referred to as ‘LCP’ is required to make sure that all workers employed by either contractors or subcontractors be paid or compensated a state-determined prevailing wage. In other words, this program makes sure that workers who execute public work contracts are not being underpaid.

How To Get Help With Medical Malpractice

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Medical malpractice is a category of personal injury law. A personal injury occurs when the actions or negligence of another causes injury to your person, property, reputation or rights. You wouldn’t have sustained the injury if it hadn’t been for the action or negligence of the other party. An injury is defined as a wrong or damages. This situation obviously applies to medical malpractice.

Green Card Lottery - Visa Not Guaranteed

Friday, March 28th, 2008

It’s called the diversity visa lottery program, but to most it’s known as the green card lottery. Chances of winning are slim, but still there’s a chance. Thousands join in each year to take a chance at the green card lottery. The program is open to many countries and many do win.

One fellow from Brazil won two years ago and brought his family to live in sunny Orlando, Florida. It happens probably more than you think, and is one legal and proper way to come into the united states.

Constitution Challenge To Online Gaming Ban

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Online gaming has been incredibly popular, particularly the various forms of poker. That all changed in 2006 when the federal government effectively banned a majority of online gaming. The gaming industry is finally fighting back.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 was a shock too much of the gaming industry. Although it had been slowly moving through Congress, there was no indication that it would be passed into law without a significant amount of debate and lobbying. In a typically congressional move, all of the uproar about a ban was bypassed when the Act was attached as a rider to legislation detailing how to protect our ports from terrorist attacks! Terrorist and online poker – a natural mix if ever there was one!
