How To Get Your Ex Back In A Flash
I marvel at people. Look, I know that they don’t give us instruction manuals when it comes to relationships, but a lot of this stuff is common sense. The problem is, people don’t use common sense. Hey, I should know. I used to be the poster boy for broken romances. I had more girlfriends before I got married than Carter has liver pills. And my marriage almost didn’t even get started. Fortunately, I figured out how to get my ex back before I ended up losing her for good. I’m going to share a little of what I’ve learned in this article.
Maybe the biggest lesson I learned, and this is going to be hard for a lot of folks to swallow, is that nobody is 100% at fault in a relationship. There is usually enough blame to go around. In my case, I wanted things from my fiance that she wasn’t ready to give. In turn, she wasn’t even willing to discuss them with me. It was an automatic “forget it Charlie.” This just made me angrier that she wouldn’t even discuss it. And it retrospect, today after almost 24 years of marriage, we both realize that we were wrong. The point is, in order to fix the relationship, you have to be able to see it from both sides.
Next step is sitting down and being honest with your ex. You don’t want to put him or her on the defensive. What I found works best for me is starting with something like, “I know I screwed up.” This immediately makes your ex more receptive to listening to what you have to say. By admitting to your part of the blame, your ex is more likely to open up to you as well. Sometimes, all our ex wants from us is an admission of guilt. Once they have this, they’re more likely to negotiate. Hate putting it in those terms but repairing a relationship is a negotiation. There is no way around that.
This may sound all too easy, but the truth is, all we want, as human beings, is to be treated with a little respect and honesty. The myth that all guys want is sex, food and sports is wrong.
